1950 Census

Alqueza Family

Tony Alqueza was born in Cuba around 1902 and was a chef in a hotel.  He lived with his wife, Luecrita, at 272 North Main Street.  She was born in Cuba around 1924 and was a housewife.

Aurella, John

John Aurella was born in Brazil around 1949 and lived at 90 Broadway with his family.  He worked in the restaurant industry.

Blanco, Celestino

Celestino Blanco was born in Cuba around 1902.  He worked as a hairdresser and lived his German-born wife, Thekla, and their children at 15 Rose Street.  Their daughter, Zenaida, was born in Cuba around 1936.

Campo Family

Fernando Campo was born in Spain around 1904.  He was a foreman for a filter company.  His wife, Katherine, was born in Puerto Rico around 1913.  The couple lived with their two sons at 233 Wallace Street.

Cifelli, Alfred

Alfred Cifelli was born in Brazil around 1895 and worked as a barber.  He lived at 400 Atlantic Avenue.

Diaz, Denold

Arnold Diaz was born in Mexico around 1904. He worked as an export manager for a zipper manufacturer.  He lived with his family at 120 South Bay Avenue.

DeAldrey, Jack

Jack DeAldrey was born in Puerto Rico around 1902.  He worked as a buying clerk in the cosmetic industry.  He lived with his wife at 398 Babylon Turnpike.

Fuchs, Julia D.

Julia D. Fuchs was born in Havana, Cuba around 1918.  She lived with her husband Christopher's family at 99 North Long Beach Avenue.  She worked as a clerical worker in the insurance industry.

Gabino, Adelaide

Presno Gabino was born in Cuba around 1903.  He worked as a barber and lived at 222 Sportsmen Avenue.

Kerner, Elba

Elba Kerner was born in Puerto Rico around 1907. She lived with her husband and children at 284 Prince Street.

Mangone, Joseph

Joseph Mangone was born in Brazil around 1901.  He lived with his Italian-born wife and children at  243 Harding Place.  He worked in shoe repair.

Mezza, Hilda

Hilda Mezza was born in Puerto Rico around 1913.  She lived with her husband and daughter at 154 West Merrick Road.

Monfin, Henry

Henry Monfin was born in Mexico around 1924.  He worked in the electrical manufacturing industry and lived at 552 South Bayview Avenue.

Moro, Natividad

Natividad Moro was African American and was born in Puerto Rico around 1920.  He worked as a mechanic and lived with his family at 23 South Main Street.

Parlini, Alexander

Alexander Parlini was born in Brazil around 1902 and lived with his family at 113 Chelsea Court.  He was a mechanical engineer.

Pereira, Helio

Helio Pereira was born in Brazil around 1915.  He worked as translator and lived at 284 Rose Street with his family.

Ruiz, Carlos

Carlos Ruiz was born in Mexico around 1910.  He worked as a barber.  His Norwegian-born wife was a beautician.  The couple lived with their son, Aurora, at 206 Church Street.

Selva, Theodore

Tudoro (Theodore) Selva was born in Cienfuegos, Cuba in 1900.  He became a U.S. citizen in 1931.  He lived at 119 New York Avenue and worked as a surveyor.  In 1950, he was separated from his wife.

Shand, Lee

Lee Shand was an African American woman born in Puerto Rico around 1924.  She worked as a maid and lived 39 East Sunrise Highway with her husband who was born in the West Indies.

Smith, Carman

Carman Fuentes Smith was born in Puerto Rico in 1914. She lived with her husband and family at 114 Brooklyn Ave.

Sumner, Mercedes

Mercedes Sumner was born in Puerto Rico around 1930.  She lived with her husband and family at 6 Mount Avenue.

Uribe-Troncoso, Manuel

Manuel Uribe-Troncoso was born in Mexico around 1868.  He was an eye doctor and lived at 217 South Ocean Avenue.

Velez, Mario

Mario Velez was born in Puerto Rico around 1908 and worked a mechanic for Lido Laundry.  He lived with his wife at 314 South Ocean Avenue.  Velez was a World War II veteran.

Vitale, Sally

Sally Vitale was born in Mexico around 1926.  She worked as a salesperson and lived with her husband, Vincent, at 158 North Long Beach Avenue.  Her race is recorded as "Mexican."
