Rock & Roll Hall of Famers with Ties to Long Island: Mission Statement

A librarian-compiled guide of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductees with documented ties to Long Island, New York

Mission Statement

This guide was created to preserve and spotlight the rich history of musicians associated with Long Island. Its entries will provide descriptions, photos, and relevant links when available aimed to help celebrate the region’s vibrant cultural legacy, including Nassau Library System resources available and related to each of the artists. The guide is aimed to be updated on a recurring basis, as based on new findings from the author, contributions from the local community, and new Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductions.

Curated by librarian Darren Paltrowitz -- a published author, interviewer, and media personality with familial ties to Freeport, as raised in Bellmore and now residing in Long Beach -- this guide draws on original research and personal interviews with many of the performers associated with this institution. Select guide entries include links to these exclusive interviews, offering deeper insight into Long Island’s lasting impact on entertainment history.

The artists shown are not the only performers of this sort, but rather the artists learned about within initial and/or followup research. The guide will be updated when additional authoritative and/or verified information has been provided to the guide's curator. If any of these materials belong to you and should be credited to someone, please reach out and we will look into providing the proper credit.
