Nestled in Port Jefferson on Long Island, New York, VuDu Studios began its life in 1997 as a modest one-room facility, and over time evolved into a full-blown multi-room recording compound under the guidance of producer/engineer Mike Watts. Located at 410 Thompson Street according to business listings, VuDu offers a large live room, multiple isolation booths and a professional control room, making it a destination for bands looking to capture the energy of live playing with high fidelity.

One of the key credits of VuDu was As Tall as Lions, a band which recorded several albums with producer Mike Watts and team. VuDu's work with ATAL started with its Freeport location, as located at 27 Hanse Avenue. ATAL singer Dan Nigro ultimately transitioned full-time into songwriting and production and has since built a stellar track record writing for major artists. His credits include co-writing and producing for Olivia Rodrigo on the breakout hit “Drivers License," as well as work with Chappell Roan, Reneé Rapp, Maisie Peters, Kylie Minogue, Caroline Polachek, and Conan Gray.

Beyond As Tall As Lions, artists who recorded at VuDu include The Dear Hunter, Hopesfall, Kevin Devine, Yvette Young, Eisley, Covet, Glassjaw, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Story Of The Year, and The Almost.
