Previously located at 370 New York Avenue in Huntington, New York, IMAC -- short for Inter-Media Art Center -- was a live music venue which closed in 2009 after nearly 30 years in business. The 600-seat nonprofit center reportedly opened as a center in Huntington Bay on "a state arts grant" in 1974, then transitioned to its New York Avenue space in 1983. The Paramount opened up within the same space in 2011.
Among the notable artists who performed at IMAC were Art Blakey, Ani DiFranco, Keb’ Mo’, Phoebe Snow, Tower Of Power, The New York Dolls, Paula Cole, The Byrds' Roger McGuinn, Jefferson Starship, Joe Bonamassa, The Derek Trucks Band, Aimee Mann, Genesis' Steve Hackett, Hot Tuna, Blue Oyster Cult (featuring Long Island natives Eric Bloom and Buck Dharma), Dave Mason, The Tragically Hip, Robert Fripp, Bo Diddley, Bela Fleck, Laura Nyro, NRBQ, Toots & The Maytalls, ELP's Carl Palmer, Dar Williams, Eric Johnson, and Buckwheat Zydeco.

Minimal confirmed information about the live music venue known as Industry can be easily found. As noted within the Action House entry within this LibGuide, the venue is believed to have been opened by music entrepreneur Phil Basile, who had managed the band Vanilla Fudge. It is widely believed to have been located in the same spot as Rockpile (believed to be set in the same location as The Action House and Speaks) at 50 Broadway; more information about its location can be found here.
Among the notable artists documented to have been seen at Industry are Marky Mark (Mark Wahlberg), Erasure, Monster Magnet, White Zombie (whose frontman Rob Zombie has since performed shows at the Jones Beach Amphitheater and Nassau Coliseum), The Misfits (a group which has been headlining arenas and festivals since regrouping with frontman Glenn Danzig), The Melvins, Helmet, Life Of Agony, Sevendust, Snot, Machine Head, L.A. Guns (whose bassist Kelly Nickels has Long Island roots), (hed) p.e., Coal Chamber, Biohazard, Clutch, and Slaughter. Photos of Marky Mark performing at Industry in 1993 can be seen here.
A September 2025 presentation featuring content from this LibGuide entry was presented at the Long Beach Public Library in Long Beach, NY, which you can read more about here and watch here.

In addition to being a synagogue which appears to have closed in the 2000s, the Israel Community Center was located at 3235 Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown, New York. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, it occasionally rented its social hall out to a concert promoter who hosted independent artists for all-ages performances. Among the notable artists who performed at this venue were Saves The Day, Hatebreed, Glassjaw, The Rookie Lot (featuring future members of Brand New), Most Precious Blood, and Two Man Advantage.
Here is video of The Rookie Lot performing at this venue. Here is video of Glassjaw performing at the venue.
