Allen, Debi

Debi Allen is author of the children's book Emma, Her Adventures in New York City. She donated the book to the library in September 2021.

[Biography by author]

My name is Debi Allen and I am a first time children’s author and live in Freeport, New York. I am originally from Chicago, Illinois and have traveled all over. I have 3 grown children and 1 grandchild which was one of my inspirations to write a children’s book. I am a first time children's author of the book EMMA-Her Adventures in New York City, the first book in a series to come. I was inspired to write this book about EMMA who is a real dog and she is friendly, adventurous and lives in New York City. This dream came alive, and teaches children many different lessons including getting along with others and exploring the culture and excitement of New York City. Emma is a friendly pup who lives in a brownstone in a cozy New York City neighborhood full of trees and furry friends. There is nothing she loves more than living her best life and encouraging her doggy pals to do the same. One day after she decides to explore the city, Emma sets out on a journey filled with exciting experiences like seeing her first Broadway musical, buying a bright spring coat, meeting a friend for lunch at a hot dog stand, visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and chasing a ball and rolling in the grass in central park. In this colorfully illustrated tale, an independent dog goes on the adventure of her life to embrace all the social and cultural experiences that New York City has to offer. The other two books in the series EMMA will be released next year. You can order the book at Archway publishing.com or if you would like an autographed copy, you can contact me at books@debiallen.com
