Welcome Freeport Authors

The Freeport Memorial Library wishes to recognize Freeport’s literary talents by collecting the works of Freeport authors.  These books will be added to the library’s catalog and will be housed as part of a permanent collection in the library’s local history department.

Freeport author defined:

The Freeport Memorial Library defines a “Freeport Author” as anyone who lives, works, owns property, or attends school in the Village of Freeport at any time in his/her life.

What you can expect from us:

Donated copies books by Freeport authors will be added the library’s permanent collection located in our local history department.  These copies do not circulate however; patrons may request to review these books in the library. Any additional copies will be added to the library’s circulating collection.

If the author agrees, the library will send a picture of you and your book to the local Freeport newspaper.  The author’s name will be added to our Freeport Authors InfoGuide.  A link to an author’s web page can be included at the request of the author

The library reserves the right to remove your book from our collection at any time.
