Films, Television & Music Videos Made On Long Island: Royal Pains

A look into Long Island's rich history as a destination for film, TV and music-related projects

Royal Pains

Prime Video: Royal Pains - Season 1

The USA Network medical drama Royal Pains, which aired new episodes from 2009 to 2016, was primarily set in the Hamptons, portraying the luxurious lifestyle of the East End’s elite through the eyes of a concierge doctor. While the show creates a vivid and picturesque image of the Hamptons, some of its scenes were actually filmed in other parts of Long Island, with Atlantic Beach serving as a notable stand-in for the exclusive seaside settings. The Catalina Beach Club, pictured below, also appeared within the film Goodfellas.

The area’s upscale homes, pristine beaches, and proximity to New York City made it an ideal location to capture the aesthetic and atmosphere of the Hamptons without the logistical challenges of filming deep into Suffolk County.

A July 2025 Paltrocast interview with Royal Pains star Mark Feuerstein in which he discussed filming at the Catalina Beach Club, visiting his grandparents as a child in Long Beach, and currently living in Bridgehampton can be seen here.
