Mount Sinai, New York is the documented birthplace of pro wrestler Trent Beretta. He trained with New York Wrestling Connection (NYWC) and reportedly made his professional debut for NYWC on July 10, 2004, under the ring name Plazma. During his early years in NYWC, he captured the Hi‑Fi Championship three times, the Tag Team Championship (partnering with Matt Maverick), and the prestigious NYWC Heavyweight Championship in December 2007 shortly before signing with WWE.

Upon transitioning to WWE’s developmental system, Florida Championship Wrestling, he adopted the name Trent Beretta and went on to form The Dude Busters with Caylen Croft (and occasionally Curt Hawkins, a.k.a. Brian Myers), winning the Florida Tag Team Championship twice under "the Freebird Rule." Following his WWE tenure -- which ended in 2013 -- Beretta’s indie career flourished as he co-founded the Best Friends tag team in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), earning the 2014 Dynamite Duumvirate Tag Team Title Tournament alongside Chuck Taylor. He then joined forces with Rocky Romero in New Japan Pro‑Wrestling to form Roppongi Vice, capturing the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship four times. Currently, Beretta signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in 2019, where he is an active member of the Don Callis Family stable. Prior to turning heel in AEW, Beretta's mother Sue (a published author) had been involved within several storylines.

Trent’s deep roots with NYWC were later honored when he was inducted into the NYWC Hall of Fame in May 2017, even returning to team in an eight‑man match during the “Master of the Mat” event. His championships and accolades otherwise include Dragon Gate USA, Empire State Wrestling, FIP, PWG, wXw, and WrestleCircus.
