Lake Grove, New York has served as a notable yet under-the-radar venue for professional wrestling events spanning multiple eras and promotions. In 1996, the village saw action from both the USA Pro Wrestling circuit with a card which included King Kong Bundy, Virgil, and Greg "The Hammer" Valentine.

The next year, Lake Grove hosted an event for the famously hardcore ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling) at Sports Plus. The event, titled Winter Blowout, included appearances from The Sandman, Tommy Dreamer, Shane Douglas, D-Von Dudley, Sabu, Rob Van Dam, Mikey Whipwreck, Bubba (Buh Buh) Ray Dudley, Raven, and Stevie Richards.

In the 2000s, Lake Grove maintained its connection to the wrestling scene with Ring of Honor (ROH) events in 2006 and 2007, during a time when ROH was cementing its reputation as a proving ground for the next generation of wrestling stars. Many talents who appeared in ROH during this era would go on to become household names in WWE, AEW, and NJPW. These cards would include Bryan Danielson (Daniel Bryan), Christian Cage, Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, Colt Cabana, A.J. Styles, KENTA, Claudio Castagnoli (Cesaro), Kevin Steen (Kevin Owens), Eddie Edwards, and El Generico (Sami Zayn).

More recently, Remarkable Wrestling held an event at Lake Grove's Smith Haven Mall in 2024. More information on the show's matches, which included Gabby Forza, can be found here.
