Greenport, New York, has made significant contributions to professional wrestling, particularly through its hosting of live events that have featured both legendary and contemporary talent. In the 1990s, the village's local venues welcomed stars such as Jimmy Snuka, King Kong Bundy, The Iron Sheik, Mikey Whipwreck, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, Hercules, The Warlord, Tony Atlas, Typhoon (Tugboat), Super Nova, Virgil, The Booty Man (Brutus Beefcake), and The Bushwhackers. These events provided fans with the opportunity to witness high-caliber wrestling in an intimate setting, fostering a strong local wrestling community.

In more recent years, Greenport has continued its wrestling tradition with events at the Greenport Harbor Brewing Co. and the Greenport American Legion. More recent talent featured included Richard Holliday, QGTM, Thom Latimer (in a NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title Match), Aron Stevens, Joe Ocasio (in a CEP Heavyweight Title Match Ladder Match), Natalie Markova (in a CEP Women's Title Triple Threat Match), Kenzie Paige, and Papadon.
