Carle Place, New York -- located near the Roosevelt Field Mall, which has hosted numerous signings for WWE Superstars -- has some historical ties to professional wrestling.
One of its standout events was FWE X, as held on July 28, 2012, under the banner of Family Wrestling Entertainment. The show included a lot of performers from the past and present rosters of major promotions, including WWE, AEW, TNA, ROH and ECW. This includes Carlito, Maria Kanellis, Harry Smith (Davey Boy Smith Jr.), Matt Taven, Colt Cabana, Tommy Dreamer, Jay Lethal, Mike Bennett, Katie Burchill (Winter), and Brian Kendrick.
Carle Place was also the proud hometown of guitar legend Joe Satriani, born just a few miles away in Westbury but raised in the community. Satriani started his musical journey at Carle Place High School and later taught guitar to a who's who of future rock stars, including Metallica’s Kirk Hammett and Testament’s Alex Skolnick. He has also appeared as a guest on Chris Jericho’s renowned podcast, Talk is Jericho.
Satriani’s connection to Metallica certainly ties in with professional wrestling. Metallica’s iconic "Enter Sandman" was part of The Sandman’s ring entrance in ECW, while other Metallica tracks like "The Memory Remains," "Now That We’re Dead," and "Sad But True" (later remixed by Kid Rock into "American Bad-Ass") have been adopted in WWE entrances and live-event promotions.
